王則 Ou Soku (Wang Ze) - He aspires to eradicate the corruption of the Imperial Court and its bureaucrats, but becomes discouraged by illegal practices that occur during China's civil service entrance exam. He teams up with a sorceress with the goal of ruling the world. 

胡永児 Ko Eiji (Hu Yong'Er) - A beautiful young woman who is welcomed by Sei Koko as her daughter Ko Biji's reincarnation. Her destiny changes from her interactions with Sei Koko.

聖姑姑 Sei Koko (Shan Gōgō) - A Daoist sorceress and a worshiper of Empress Wu Zetian.

蛋子 Tanshi (Danzi Wang) -  A Daoist monk, inventor of "The Way of Divine Thunder and Lightning."

劉玄 Ryū Gen (Liu Xuan) - A salt smuggler.  A fearless practitioner of the staff and Tanshi's master.

強鸞 Chō Ran (Zhang Dapeng) - A sorcerer who uses flame techniques. His father was a Jurchen. 

李俊 Ri Shun (Li Jun) - Tanshi's disciple. A master of hidden weapons, he also has a transformation ability. 

阿牟梨 Amuri (same in Chinese and Japanese) - A Jurchen woman. Captain of a women's cavalry unit.

沈括 Shin Katsu (Shen Kuo) - A boy genius with a keen interest in science. He creates a mechanical titan made out of steel.

文彦博 Bungen Haku (Yanbo Wen) - An old general of the Song Dynasty. He was the commander of the army that attacked Baizhu Castle.

任遷 Jin Sen (Ren Quian) - A sorcerer. Master of the Blue Dragon Blade.

強琪 Chō Ki (Zhang Qi) - A sorcerer. Master of fire magic. 

卜吉 Boku Kichi (Boku Yoshi) - A sorcerer. Master of multi-body techniques. 

呉三郎 Go Saburō (same in Chinese and Japanese) - A sorcerer and a womanizer. 

九天玄女 Kyūten Genyo (Jiutian Xuannü) - A goddess that embodies the spirit of wisdom. Within Hakūn-do Cave, she appears as a halo of light.

袁公 En Kō (Yuan Gong) - An ape-man of unknown age. The keeper and guardian of Hakūn-do Cave.
